BRG envisions itself as a community-centered force in amateur baseball, built on the belief that “it takes a village” to nurture the next generation of baseball players and community leaders. By offering training programs, advocating for parents, and providing expert guidance to aspiring collegiate and professional athletes, BRG seeks to uplift players, parents, coaches, and the broader baseball network. Together, this village prepares athletes for success at every level, from collegiate play to professional drafts.
Baseball Resource Group (BRG) was established by a distinguished team of leaders, including Mishael Israel, Reggie Smith, Tarrik Brock, and Gary Patchett, bringing over 150 years of combined professional baseball experience. BRG is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the training, development, and mentorship of baseball student-athletes from diverse communities, helping them pursue professional baseball careers through collegiate paths. Operating primarily in California, with Lake Elsinore as its central hub, BRG is well-positioned to become a leading force in youth baseball, particularly in underserved communities.
BRG’s founding team comprises highly accomplished individuals such as Mishael Israel, a former MLB Associate Scout, and Reggie Smith, a seven-time MLB All-Star and World Series champion. Their expertise is complemented by other board members and advisors, including Chris Gwynn, Tony Tarasco, and Mike Sweeney, who bring invaluable experience from their successful careers in Major League Baseball. This diverse team is committed to leveraging their knowledge and networks to fulfill BRG’s mission.
